A STRANGER STAY

By CH

May you stay a stranger

And at best a friend

Because I have known you too many times

Even with different faces

Or called by different names

And knowingly,

I still, many times, fallen...

For you. And upon falling,

Scraped my knees

Bleeding from the palms that hold me up

Catching a splinter,

That stealthily passes through my veins

My own veins carry the dagger that kills me

And I, so oblivious, yet knowing that

If only you would stay a stranger,

And at best a friend.
